Richard A. Becker earned a B.A. in Chemistry from Swarthmore College and a Ph.D. in Pharmacology and Toxicology from the University of California Irvine. Dr. Becker was awarded a post-doctoral fellowship from the National Cancer Institute under which he received post-doctoral training and conducted research in pathobiology of cancer and DNA damage and repair at the University of Toronto and the International Agency for Research on Cancer. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Toxicology. Dr. Becker is a member of the Society of Toxicology, the American Association for Cancer Research, the American Chemical Society, the Society for Risk Assessment and the International Society of Regulatory Toxicology and Pharmacology. He has served as the Chairman of the Regulatory and Legislative Affairs Committee of the SOT, Chair of the Membership Committee of SRA and as Secretary of the ISRTP.
